Protect and heal your family by growing and preparing your own herbal apothecary!*
What if something like this happened in your community?
It was a few days before Christmas, 2024 and new friends up the street were having a get together for their kids and other children. We had recently moved into this tight-knit community of ranching homesteads two hours from the closest city of any size.
Suddenly our neighborhood emergency chat alarmed.
"We're having a medical situation and need adults fast to take care of the kids!"
Immediately, we and other neighbors rushed to their home from all directions.
Our friends' daughter Gracie had had her first ever seizure.
Beside themselves with worry, our friends tried not to panic. Round trip for an ambulance to get Gracie to the hospital would be five hours across the rough, dirt roads.
Would it be too late? Gracie already had medical challenges.
Taking a deep breath, our friends requested a life flight helicopter instead. The cost would be $35,000 with no guarantee of insurance coverage - but it would get Gracie to medical care as quickly as possible.
As Gracie was loaded into the helicopter, pale and dazed but now awake, I stood with my arm around her younger sister, Hazel. And as the helicopter lifted off with a rush of propellers, Hazel looked up at me and said with a tiny voice: "Gracie is my best friend. Will she be home for Christmas?"
I did my best to comfort her. But I was silently afraid, wondering what the modern medical system would throw at Gracie on the other side of the life flight journey, until her parents could arrive in their car.

Sarah Vezzani
Sarah Vezzani is the owner, with her husband Mike, of Herbal Embrace, a business arm of Vezzani Agricultural Ventures, LLC. They are both trained in permaculture design principles. Her herbal teas and products have a signature feeling when you use them - you can taste and feel an indescribable something that is very special.
In their adult lives, health issues popped up for Sarah and Mike that they couldn't find answers to in the conventional healthcare system. They did their own research and made a lot of changes to nutrition, products they were using, and what they were including in their environments. Sarah discovered she is sensitive to chemicals and fragrances, such that just walking through a store can give her a migraine. This was a problem when she was working as a chemical engineer for a consumer products company that had fragrances everywhere.
The Vezzanis had been feeling a growing call to live a more natural life, connected with the natural world, and to raise their family rooted in natural principles. Eventually they started making their own home and body care products. They secured a 2-acre homestead and began building a house and garden where they now live fulltime. They ultimately left their corporate jobs and started an herbal products company and Sarah completed training at Dr. Christopher's School of Natural Healing in Springville, Utah with a Masters in Herbology.
Sarah and Mike named their farmstead A Place to Come in reference to Wendell Berry's writings on how the family farm has become a place to leave rather than a place to come. They seek to reverse this in their family's life and make their home a symbol of the "Hope that is within us." (1 Peter 3:15). They believe that nature connects each of us to God, and that by working the soil on the land, we do God's work (with a lot of spiritual refining along the way!)
